Siddhanta Kaumudi is a celebrated Snskrit commentary by Bhattoji Diksita (early 17^th Century) on the Astadhyayai and is believed to be more popular than Papini’s under appropriate heads and offers exposition that is orderly and easy to follow.

The sutras are arranged in two parts- the first part deals with the rules of interpretation, sandhis, declensions, formation of feminines, case endings, compounds, secondary derivations and the second part with conjugation, primary suffixes, Vedic grammar and accents.

The present edition of Siddhanta Kaumudi in two volumes is its first ever complete English translation by Srisa Candra Vasu along with various notes at suitable places. The editor of the present book has further corrected the printing errors in the previous editions of this book. The entire book has been re-composed and enlarged with easily readable text and translation. This book will study fulfill the long awaiting demand of Sanskrit scholars and learners for an improved edition of Siddhanta Kaumudi of Bhattoji Diksita with English Meanings.
